About This Game NEW: 2019 - 05 - 07Defeat the Beat now utilizes Steam's Workshop. You can publish BeatMaps you have recorded online and subscribe to BeatMaps other people have made through Steam's Workshop. After subscribing to BeatMaps you have to restart the game for the BeatMaps to download to the "Songs/Workshop" folder. When uploading a song to the Workshop please wait for the status text to change to "Success" before returning to the hub. Make sure to change your song's visibility from Hidden to Public to share the BeatMap with the world!ForwardI've had 2 major passions in life, Video Games and Music. VR seems to be one of the best ways to combine those passions. It feels like something happens when you put on the headset and step into a VR rhythm game. For me it's a place I can dance like no one is watching and I love to really get into the beat or melody of a song. I wanted to create an experience where you could express yourself dancing however you want to a song and then replay it in a way that feels like you're in the middle of an intense VR action game. And so "Defeat the Beat" was born.OverviewDefeat the Beat has 2 main components. Recording and Playing, both done in game in VR. You can search for a song and record your movements to the song. After recording or downloading beat maps you can try for a highscore against the boss as it sends attacks at you in the exact way the song was recorded.Recording Creating beatmaps are done entirely in VR Search for any video on YouTube to record to Use 4 different weapons (Shield, Sword, Blaster, and Bow) to create a beatmap to however the song makes you feel Currently songs are saved locally and the files do not contain any copyrighted information so they can be shared outside the game legallyPlaying Face off against the beat - and try to match the moves of the beatmap's creator Record your highscore locally Weapons automatically switch to whatever is needed at the time so you can focus on hitting the beats.Accessing Created SongsEven though you cannot yet share songs in the game, you can access the beatmaps you create from the game's local content and share those files. To access the local files right click on the game in your Steam library. Click Properties > Local Files > Browser Local Files. This will open up the game's files. All of the songs created and loaded into the game are saved in the "/Songs" folder. Adding any songs to this folder will be loaded next time you start the game! 7aa9394dea Title: Defeat the BeatGenre: Action, Indie, Early AccessDeveloper:Flying Fire, LLCPublisher:Flying Fire, LLCRelease Date: 30 Nov, 2018 Defeat The Beat Torrent defeat the bear tomb raider. defeat the beat vr. defeat and beat fear and loathing in las vegas. defeat the bear tomb raider ps4. defeat means beat. defeat the bear. defeat and beat las vegas. defeat and beat 意味. defeat the beast mod. defeat beat win 違い. defeat the beat 2018. defeat or beat. defeat beat difference. defeat and beat 和訳. defeat and beat 歌詞. the beat to defeat. defeat the bear metro exodus. defeat y beat diferencia. defeat and beat. defeat the beat. defeat and beat lyrics. defeat the beat joondalup 2019. defeat is beat. defeat the bear days gone. defeat beat win. defeat the bear joondalup. defeat and beat falilv. defeat the beat city of joondalup The game is very fun and some fresh air for the rythm-game genre. You get 5 different tools, mostly weapons, to defend against and attack the beat.Pros:- Relatively large variety of tools\/weapons- Tools are very fun to use, I especially liked the blaster gun- You don't only slash\/hit stuff but it feels like an active fight against an enemy- The game makes you move much more than traditional rythm games- The notes match the beat and the songs have a good flowCons:- Menu is very basic and needs a lot of polishing\/reiteration- Sometimes your view gets obstructed by the many notes flying towards you- Limited number of songs- Bad performance in some areas- Game needs a lot of polish in generalConsidering it's early access I didn't weigh the bad polishing a lot in my rating. The pros overweigh the cons by far.The game is just so much fun and I really want this to become bigger, more polished and get a larger library.I got it for the sale price of 7,50\u20ac but I would definitely say it's worth the regular price of 12,50\u20ac.. When I first saw this game on Reddit I thought it would be a bad version of Beat Saber or Audioshield. It takes inspiration from similar games but had its own unique innovations.-Multiple weapons The game automatically switches you between shields, swords, arm cannons, and a bow. Each has their own mechanics for interacting with notes. The shield isn't a simple block like Audioshield if you simply block the note just pops but if you punch into the note it will be volleyed back to the boss and if it hits it you get a nice chunk of points. The swords work the same as Beat saber although there is some mechanic where Zelda style swipe blasts come out of your sword and track the boss hitting it for points (I currently do not know what triggers it)The Arm cannons are simply timed shots where the targets appear, and if the boss is at the target you get extra points. I am unaware of anything else for that. The Bow is currently the "weakest" of the weapons and will hopefully see some real TLC. The interesting part is you use an arrow hand to catch a bullet from the boss which turns into an arrow for your bow and a timed shot similar to the arm cannons show up to launch the arrow at with the bow.-Ingame editor I absolutely love the ingame editor, I've spent hours making songs in the Beat Saber editor and it is so refreshing to be able to seamlessly go from recording a song to playing it. Although you better have the song memorized as you have to record the song in one go.You can freely switch between the 4 weapons and even mix some of them together (Sword right hand Shield left) and when you or someone plays your recorded beatmap the game will equip the right weapons at the right times.-360 play All the other similar games have a stage or rails in front of you and the notes come towards you down a line. in DtB the boss has the ability to move 360 degrees around the player and you are able to record your beatmaps in full 360. Have notes do a full spin around the player or require them to catch an arrow and quickly shoot it behind them.I am excited to see where this game goes as it is developed and I very much recommend it if you enjoy these kinds of music games.TLDR Not a ripoff, not a clone, unique ideas..
